NFL All-Pro Linebacker Shawne Merriman speaks at Cayenne Medical booth during AANA
Shawne Merriman, notorious for electrifying hits and relentless sacks on the football field, made time to speak with orthopaedic surgeons in the Cayenne Medical booth at the Arthroscopy Association of North America annual meeting. Merriman answered questions about his fast recovery after having both his PCL and LCL reconstructed using the AperFix® System.
Since the reconstructions, Merriman has been able to rehab aggressively and is expected to attend training camp and make a full return to the field come opening day. “We are excited to see Shawne Merriman join other NFL players and high performance athletes whose surgeons have trusted the AperFix™ System for their knee ligament repairs, “ said James. Independent Harvard Study Favors AperFix®
A new Harvard clinical study published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine (AJSM) found that Cayenne’s AperFix® System and “Single Tunnel, Double Bundle” ACL reconstruction technique better resembles the natural, intact ACL when compared to the more common, “Single-Bundle” technique.
